Co-created collection teams super-lux leather with carbon fibre to bring lighter more compact versions of traditional travel goods
Building on the success of a co-created collection released earlier this year, TUMI, the premium luggage and lifestyle brand, has again teamed up with supercar builder and Formula 1 team McLaren to produce some incredibly high-end travel accessories. Leather, of course, features prominently.
There are nine new pieces, all designed to be lighter and more compact than traditional designs.
Key pieces of the collection include The Halo Backpack and M-Tech Soft Satchel.
The Halo Backpack features a moulded front panel, a padded sleeve that can hold a 14-inch laptop and, for charging on the go, a built-in USB port. It stands out with papaya-coloured highlights, a leather handle and magnetic zips with TUMI and McLaren branding.
The M-Tech Soft Satchel is an unstructured weekend bag. It has an articulated papaya-highlighted padded shoulder strap and leather top carry handles.
Smaller items you might like to check out are the Global Double Billfold, Passport Cover, and Folding Card Case. Each is made from exquisite leather with papaya-coloured metal hardware, carbon fibre details and embossed branding.
Victor Sanz, TUMI’s creative director said: “Following the success of our first drop with McLaren, we remain in everlasting pursuit of best-in-class design excellence. Our incredible journey as collaborators evolved as we explored ways in which we could further develop the collection. As a result, we purposely set out to ensure we were connecting with all levels of customers this season. Our shared goal is to give everyone an opportunity to engage with this amazing collaboration.”
