Since its launch in early 2025, RLSD Vietnam has made a significant impact on young fashion designers nationwide. Through a series of inspiring workshops at top universities, the competition provides hands-on experience with genuine leather— a sustainable, high-value, and timeless material—helping to shape the next generation of designers.

The RLSD Vietnam team has successfully hosted workshops at leading universities, including Ho Chi Minh city: University of Technology(HCMUT), Van Lang University (VLU), University of Architecture (UAH), Industrial University (IUH), Ton Duc Thang university, University of Technology and Education, Hoa Sen university, Sonadezi college.
Ha Noi city: University of Science and Technology (HUST), University of Industrial Fine Arts, Architectural University, and nearly 5 other institutions offering fashion design programs. These events provide students with direct exposure to leather craftsmanship, sustainable design practices, and professional skills essential for working with genuine leather.
Each workshop features in-depth sessions led by industry experts, focusing on various aspects of leather design—from material selection and pattern-making to crafting techniques and sustainability insights. Students gain a deeper understanding of leather’s durability and versatility, reinforcing its role sustainably.

Beyond technical training, these workshops serve as creative hubs for students to experiment with colors, textures, and stitching techniques. Participants have the opportunity to create sample products, such as leather keychains and cardholders, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the material while developing practical design thinking.
Additionally, the program emphasizes sustainability, helping students recognize that genuine leather is not just a premium material but also a byproduct of the food industry, offering a more environmentally responsible alternative to synthetic options.
As the competition progresses, these workshops play a crucial role in equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to submit their most refined and innovative designs. By providing practical experience and industry insights, RLSD Vietnam ensures that participants are well-prepared to compete at both national and international levels.
