Taiwan Region’s third annual Real Leather. Stay Different. Student Design Competition received 460 entries from students from 18 colleges and universities. The five judges selected 20 finalists who had the opportunity to make prototypes of their designs- and in this video, you’ll discover the inspiration behind some of those creations!
This year’s designs explored themes such as society’s sexualisation of female bodies, and how travel can influence fashion. All these designs are underpinned by the use of leather as a sustainable material.

Real Leather. Stay Different. Taiwan Region Competition is co-organised by the Leather & Hide Council of America, Taiwanese International Leather Association, and Taiwan Regional Association of Tanneries. The final live event will be held on the 25th of August in Taiwan, so stay tuned for the winner’s announcements on our website and the Taiwan competition page.
