Sara Morandini, International Accessories Category Winner

Sara’s project, Ombrage, which took the accessories title, is a unisex collection of leather goods, footwear and jewellery inspired by the primal forces of nature – water, air, earth and fire.
Currently interning at Balmain’s Leather Goods Studio in Paris, Sara studied at the Accademia Costume & Moda in her hometown of Rome. She said: “Over time, I became increasingly aware of my natural inclination for Accessory Design, which led me to fully dedicate myself to creating not only leather goods and footwear but also Jewellery. In everything I do, I favour a hands-on and experimental approach that allows me to establish a direct and perhaps more intimate dialogue with both the project and the materials I work with.”
She said of Ombrage: “Exploring instinct, duality and the shadows within, it draws on material experimentation with wood and leather and a handwoven technique to create raw, ancestral forms. The collection embraces contrast, capturing the tension between light and dark to reflect the journey towards self-awareness.”
