Porsche and the New York fashion label Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) have launched a collaboration. And from the handmade cream leather seats to the Persian rugs used as floormats, we think it’s a pretty special car.
In true seventies style, the fully restored 1978 Porsche 911 Super Carrera comes in olive green – a colour that shouldn’t really work on a sportscar, but somehow does.
ALD founder and Creative Director Teddy Santis was responsible for the design, and he looked to his family’s roots and values for inspiration, saying: “The design of the vehicle and the creative direction for the project both come from my childhood on the Greek islands and the unique beauty of things that get better with age and wear in that environment.”
For the exterior, he chose the classic Porsche colour Olive. He styled it with auxiliary lights on the bonnet, Fuchs wheels and a roof rack to create the perfect touring set-up.
But for us, the highlight is the fully customised interior. It features a combination of full grain cowhide leathers and bouclé fabric throughout. Vintage Persian rugs are used for the floor mats and the lower door panels and the headliner is covered in perforated buffalo bull suede.
Bespoke seats have been restored with a bouclé outer along with a total full grain leather centre and the driver seat finished with wooden beads by Recaro.
The super supercar has been on display in New York. Porsche has not yet announced how we can buy it, and how much it will cost!
