The Japanese label and the French luxury fashion house team up for 57-piece A/W men’s collection
Long-term friends Kim Jones, Dior men’s Artistic Director, and Chitose Abe, founder of Sacai have hit the design studio to come up with a collection that combines the styles of the two labels to create something totally original.
The collection manages to blur the boundaries between streetwear, sportswear and formal yet remains totally wearable.
Of course, leather is at the heart of the collection. Dior’s classic saddle bag is updated with extra pockets and cord closures and comes in olive and orange. And Dior Snow and Explorer boots have had a revamp with the addition of jewels, brass and pearls.
The collection’s hats are designed by Stephen Jones, the doyenne of millinery. His soft berets work perfectly with the Japanese denim workwear creations, all created from a black, blue, white and cream palette.
Kim Jones said: “I’ve always loved [Chitose] and I just think she’s one of the coolest women in the world. It’s just a really key mix between what Dior and Sacai is, and it was a way of having a conversation through the pandemic.”
