Our top five Milan Fashion Week 2020 Autumn/Winter moments
Following on from last month’s London Fashion Week, the trends emerging from Milan had a similar focus on sustainability, from the recycling messages embellished on Armani jackets to Salvatore Ferragamo’s use of leftover worn leather. We’ve rounded up our five favourite moments from Milan Fashion Week’s coveted AW 2020/21 collections – you can thank us later.
BOSS
The Hugo Boss catwalk was a serene show with soothing music, glamourous coats and stunning suits. But our best feature was, of course, the vast display of leather. Our favourite look has got to be this quirky colour combination of red and orange – check out those fancy pants!
GIORGIO ARMANI
Although playing to an empty room amid virus concerns, Armani’s chic womenswear collection was a take on romanticism, unveiling a blend of black velvet with hints of pink. The show ended with a “message of love for China”, showcasing an ode to the country with archive pieces from the China-inspired Armani’s SS ‘09 and ’19 collections. Take a look at the full show here.
SPORTMAX
Sportmax’s AW20 look brought a futuristic catwalk with Matrix-style sunglasses, monocoloured get-ups and gorgeous high boots and elbow length gloves made from – yep, you guessed it – authentic leather. Check out a few shots from the show here.
PRADA
Prada unsurprisingly took centre stage with not only it’s stunning catwalk, but with the announcement of world-renowned Belgian designer Raf Simons joining Prada as co-creative director with the one and only Miuccia Prada – we’re so excited to see what they have in store for us!
SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
Creative Director Paul Andrew wanted to dive into the many roles women play on a day-to-day basis, which was certainly expressed in his Salvatore Ferragamo womenswear catwalk. Using leftovers of old leather supplies, our favourite look has got to be this upcycled black leather coat – proof that sustainability really can be fashionable.
