The inaugural Real Leather. Stay Different. Vietnam awards ceremony wrapped on July 9 at the stunning Mai House Saigon hotel. And it was a night to remember. More than an awards show it was the revelation of the next generation of designers, propelling them onto the global stage.
The competition was fierce, with more than 120 students from 15 universities and colleges across the country vying for top honours. From the three categories, Footwear, Apparel and Accessories, 38 finalists were chosen to turn their unique concepts into reality.
The ceremony brought together a who’s who of the industry including representatives from the US Consulate General, the Leather & Hide Council of America (LHCA) and sponsors from leading leather, footwear and fashion companies.
And the winners are…
Here are the designers who took home the coveted prizes:
The night’s biggest honour went to Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai, who was named the overall winner for her stunning accessory design, “Rối Nước.” Inspired by the traditional art of water puppetry, Mai’s creation blends Vietnamese folklore with modern fashion. Not just a beautiful accessory, her design is a celebration of cultural heritage and national pride.
