Lux-leather basketballs… Branded lumps of clay… US sports brand Supreme puts its name on everything from the high-end to the hilarious.

The skateboard/hip hop crossover brand that consistently has eager young customers queuing round several blocks as their shops drop their finest merchandise, has never been afraid to have a bit of fun with its devotees.

But there is always a serious side to the brand, they make sure they use the finest materials for their products, and that runs to the best leather and pigskin for merch that includes beautiful basketballs and an awesome American football.

Perhaps the most notorious of the playful products was the Supreme brick, which was, hilariously, exactly what you might imagine – a clay house brick bearing the Supreme logo. This heavy drop was a huge success, instantly achieving a resale value of five times its store price. You can still find Supreme bricks of dubious provenance on EBay, if you fancy gambling hundreds of pounds in the hope of getting a genuine one.

Supreme teamed with Spalding, the NBA’s official ball supplier, to come up with two distinct basketball designs, each crafted from full grain leather. One bears the slogan: “Each One, Teach One.’ and the other comes in white with a beautiful butterfly print designed by Mark Gonzalez.

For the American football, Supreme called in Wilson to produce the pigskin classic, which was available in a choice of red or brown hide.

Crazy favourite Supreme brand bearers include a sleeping bag, a hollowed-out bible, a crowbar, nunchucks, a punch bag and, possibly the most ridiculous of all, though admittedly with a very practical application, a fire extinguisher.

They’ve even released a Supreme-branded packet of Oreos.

With the biscuits, the sleeping bag and the cookies, super-fans of the brand now have the chance not just to wear Supreme – they can eat, sleep and play it, too.
