Hermès proves leather belongs behind the decks

When the world’s most celebrated leather house decides to build a DJ booth, you know the result is going to be something special.

Hermès has unveiled the Atelier Horizons Disque Jockey Club — a fully functioning DJ set-up that marries rich Pippa cowhide leather with hand-crafted mahogany. The result is nothing short of extraordinary.

Developed through Hermès’ bespoke Atelier Horizons division, the piece brings together high-fidelity sound equipment and the meticulous craftsmanship more commonly associated with the brand’s handbags and saddlery.

Designed in collaboration with British DJ Charles Prince, the setup features integrated Japanese turntables and a mixer housed in a sculptural wooden console.

And this is no ornamental piece. The turntables, mixer and acoustic engineering were designed for real performance use, not just display. It is a working instrument, built to the same exacting standards as any piece of fine Hermès leather goods.

The booth was launched at Milan Design Week and exhibited in La Pelota, Hermès’ exhibition venue in the Brera Design District. It is is now available to buy at Hermès Berlin.
