Strathberry X Cinq à Sept is the designer collaboration blending Scottish design and Americana details

Tassels are set to be everywhere this autumn/winter, across catwalks and on street style influencers – so Scottish accessories label Strathberry couldn’t have collaborated with romantic New York fashion brand Cinq à Sept at a better time.

The Edinburgh-based handbag maker has experienced something of a transformation in recent times. While still championing its bread-and-butter classic designs that are loved by countless members of the British royal family, it has released a number of trend-led-yet-still-timeless pieces that undoubtedly appeal to a more trend-conscious customer – most recently, its Kite Hobo Maxi bag has become a hit with the fashion set.

Next up is the brand’s coveted collaboration with Cinq à Sept – which fuses Strathberry’s classic signatures with a bohemian, prairie twist. Both labels describe the collection as one that embraces contrasts: it’s “glamorous but not precious,” as the press reads.

The collection comprises eight handbag styles, with stand-outs crafted in suede and leather – including mid-size shoulder bags, clutches and mini totes. Inspired by early Americana, the hero piece is a chocolate brown tasselled shoulder bag, as well as some pretty embroidered versions of Strathberry’s most beloved silhouettes. The running thread, of course, is the brand’s signature gold music bar detail, which is incorporated in various ways throughout the styles.

Strathberry X Cinq à Sept – New collection

Strathberry’s owner and co-founder Leeanne Hundleby told us: “The creative journey behind this partnership has been incredibly rewarding and we’re proud to be showing a sophisticated yet striking collection.”

Jane Ciskin, the CEO and founder of Cinq à Sept, also shared that the range “blends seamlessly” with her own Autumn/Winter collection, which features plenty of suede, embroidered leather and romantic bohemian ruffles.

Strathberry has grown significantly in popularity since its launch in 2015, but has, impressively, never compromised on craftsmanship. Its accessories are still made in the Spanish town of Ubrique, famous for its artisan leather skills, and Leeanne has been vocal about supporting the independent leather industry.

Sharing all about her Spanish team, she told Who What Wear: “They have a brilliant global reputation as masters of their craft. The skills they have are passed down through generations and generations. You can see members of the same family work within the same workshop. It’s absolutely beautiful watching everyone in their stations at work. The workshops that we have are a real extension of us. The craftspeople go out of their way to emulate the Strathberry standards of service and exceptional quality. They make sure they deliver that for us. We’re quite particular, and in turn, they’re very particular about what they are giving us.”

Strathberry continues to source all of its leather from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries, too, while maintaining a mid-luxury price point that offers undeniable value for quality. We expect a sell-out following the launch of Strathberry X Cinq à Sept, which officially hit shelves in September 2025. Which style is your favourite?
