Originally from Zhoukou City in Henan Province, Yu Wang is a 21-year-old student currently attending Guangling College at Yangzhou University.
What has inspired your designs?
This shoe is mainly inspired by octopus getting caught by fisherman and struggling in the fishing nets. The theme is ‘breaking free’, which refers to marine organisms breaking free from fishing nets, and which encourages people not to catch and kill animals indiscriminately, but to protect them.
What have you designed?
The main colors of the shoe are black, brown and red, and the fabric is mainly natural leather. The shoe can be disassembled into leather sandals and leather shoe covers. The shoe covers are easy to clean, and also easy to replace with plush shoe covers or cotton shoe covers.
